Title: Missing
Crossover: Harry Dresden
Rating: FR-7
Characters: Glory, Harry Dresden
Words: 200
Notes: Been trying to do this idea for a while, it finally popped.

HARRY DRESDEN - WIZARD

Lost items found. Paranormal Investigations.

Consulting. Advice. Reasonable Rates.

No Love Potions, Endless Purses or

Other Entertainment.

She looked over the yellow pages entry, and smiled. "Yes, this will do," she said aloud, looking at her reflection in the mirror. "One little wizard, and I can go home.

Harry Dresden looked up as the door to his office opened, and a blonde goddess walked in. She wasn't his usual type of customer, but money was always tight, and he took what he could. It wasn't often he had a paying customer walk in. Standing, he offered his hand. "Harry Dresden, at your service, Miss . . ."

"Call me Glory," she said, smiling enticingly. "I understand you find things."

Dresden swallowed, thinking his libido did not need this. She was gorgeous. She was amazing. She was . . . asking for his help. "Ah, yes. I can find lost or misplaced items. Divination, you know." Great, Harry, you sound like a twelve-year-old.

"Good. I hope you'll be able to locate something very important to me. It's very old, and I've been looking a long time," she said.

"What is it you're looking for?"

"I want my key."

Inspector Dalgliesh stood in a flat that was little more than a pesthole, looking down at a pool of blood which announced to anyone with eyes that a person, an adult, had died right there. In his mind, he could trace the victim’s departure from life as he bled out. The heart, pumping faster and faster as the body attempted to maintain blood pressure in the face of rapid loss of volume, would have given out within minutes, judging by just how much fluid there was.

He wanted justice for the man.

He wouldn’t get it.

Damn the Watchers’ Council.

*****

Crossed with P.D. James’ Inspector Dalgliesh stories, which were begun in the early 1960s.

challenge #016 for the week of 7-24 to 7-30
It's a mystery!
- Suggested by [livejournal.com profile] brendanm720. Anything from Sherlock Holmes to Agatha Christie to Scooby Doo. We're looking for mystery crossings.

Please remember that this is a community. We value the input of all our members. You can place your suggestions for weekly topics here. They may not be used right away, but having them on "file" when the mod is strapped for new ideas is a good thing indeed.

Happy drabbling!
